Ιστορία: About
Saint George
The church of StGeorge (Agios Georgios) is located on a small plateau between hills in the wider area of Vilia and at an altitude of 494 meters above sea level. Around a long distance there are the ruins of the houses of Paleochori.
The church celebrates on April 23 or immediately after Easter. According to tradition, here in his yard, the "lule siggerianiote", which means the flower of St George, is sung and danced by men and women. The celebration is then transferred to the square of Vilia outside the church of the Transfiguration of the Savior with the presence of horsemen and young people in traditional costumes, accompanied by traditional music and dance.
